About the project
Ditto is a safe, anonymous peer-support web application designed for individuals navigating addiction, trauma, stigma, and mental health challenges. Built to combat isolation, the app connects users through shared experiences, allowing them to realize they are not alone without revealing their identities.
Key features include:
• Incognito by Default: Random aliases and cartoon avatars replace real names and faces to prevent judgment.
• Empathetic Community Feed: Users share small wins and hardships, using supportive reactions like Proud, Stay strong, and Inspired rather than standard likes.
• Interactive Mood Tracking: A 16-mood board connects users with peers feeling the same way and pairs them with “Allies” (including simulated peer, doctor, and rehab profiles).
• Gamified Milestone Progress: The Horizon feed unlocks milestone-only posts as recovery journeys grow, while the Skylight feature builds a personal night sky by lighting a star for every positive step taken.
• Calm Space & Crisis Safety: A dedicated crisis button offers guided breathing exercises, ambient soundscapes, and AI voice affirmations (powered by ElevenLabs). To ensure safety by design, typing panic or crisis words automatically triggers the Calm Space alongside official helpline resources like Tele-MANAS (14416).
