Boroly (Prononounced Borough-ly) is how you make sure you find the best place to rent or sublease in NYC.

I went through the hassle myself a few months back, scout Facebook, Craigslist, and various sublease platforms to find a good place. Compare them against your requirements. Is this place close to my commute? Good grocery stores nearby? Am I getting the best bang for my buck? Could I have gotten a better deal somewhere else?

Boroly tries to help answer these questions, so you can rent being sure you made the right choice.

How does it work?
Paste a listing link (or the listing text) and a few lines about yourself: your job, schedule, pets, budget, commute, what matters to you. Boroly reads the live web and gives you a report, which includes:

• Is the price right?: Boroly crawls StreetEasy and Craigslist for every comparable listing currently up within about a mile, then does the math: the median, the middle half, and where this listing falls. It also shows the closest cheaper options.
• Around the block: real walking times to the places you care about, like the subway, groceries, a gym, a dog run or a laundromat if there’s none in the building. Each is picked from your profile and plotted on a map. It even notices when an errand is on your way somewhere.
• Vibes: how locals have tagged the area on Hoodmaps, plus the most-upvoted crowd tags
• What locals say: real quotes from residents on Reddit and neighborhood forums, each with a link.
• Building check: HPD violations, 311 complaints, bedbug filings, evictions, court cases and tenant reviews for the exact address.
• A verdict for you: a fit score, a short “day in your life” there, red flags, and sharp questions to ask before you sign.

How it’s built
Boroly is a Next.js app, using Nimble and Gemini.

1. Extracts and reads the listing page.
2. Nimble crawls StreetEasy and Craigslist within a mile to gather real comparable rents.
3. Nimble Web Search Agents find resident opinion, such as on Reddit threads on which neighborhoods fit people like you.
4. Gemini writes summaries and the final text.
