About the project

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The proposed Artisan & Craft Cultural Centre is envisioned as a living platform for traditional craftsmanship, where making, learning, experiencing and selling come together under one roof.

The project aims to provide artisans with dedicated workspaces while creating opportunities for visitors to witness and understand the complete journey of a handmade product — from raw material and production to exhibition and marketplace. Workshops and training spaces support the transfer of traditional skills to younger generations, while exhibition and retail areas connect artisans directly with the public.

The architectural approach focuses on creating a human-scaled, climate-responsive and culturally rooted environment through courtyards, shaded transitional spaces, natural light, ventilation and locally inspired materials.

Rather than functioning as a conventional exhibition centre, the project works as a living craft ecosystem that supports cultural identity, community interaction, skill development and artisan livelihood.

Core Idea:
“Not just displaying craft, but creating a space where craft is made, learned, experienced and sustained.”
