About the project

NearHelp is an end-to-end, full-stack Emergency Response Platform built to eliminate dispatch latency and operate reliably through complete network blackouts. It pairs sub-second WebSocket bidirectional tracking with an AI-driven Triage Engine and an innovative Web Audio Acoustic SOS module. When internet connectivity drops, NearHelp utilizes an Offline-First PWA Store-and-Forward queue, local offline AI guidance, and automated native SMS fallback, ensuring no SOS broadcast is ever lost.

Key Features

  1. Acoustic Triage & Silent SOS: Browser-native Web Audio API signal analysis for hands-free panic sound detection (screams, glass breaking) and silent multi-tap screen triggers that send covert alerts without screen illumination. 2. Sub-Second Map & Socket Triage: Dynamic Leaflet.js dashboard broadcasting live GPS coordinates and bidirectional updates via WebSockets with sub-500ms latency. 3. AI Emergency Triage Engine: Dynamic LLM triage agent providing contextual survival instructions to victims while responders are en route. 4. Offline-First & Low-Bandwidth Resilience: Service Worker architecture with IndexedDB local queueing and native SMS fallback to guarantee broadcast delivery in zero-connectivity zones. 5. GeoJSON Spatial Dispatch: MongoDB $near 2dsphere indexing for instant proximity-based responder matching.
