Samajh
Understand any official letter in 10 seconds
Samajh (समझ, “understanding”) turns confusing official letters into a clear plan, in English or Hindi.
The problem
Electricity disconnection notices, bank dues, tax letters, court summons, college fee deadlines. They are written in jargon, and most people can’t read them. So they miss deadlines, pay late fees, or pay an agent just to be told what a letter says. Scammers also use fake notices to steal OTPs and money.
What Samajh does
Paste any letter and instantly get:
- What it means, in plain language
- The deadline and the amount due, pulled out of the text
- An urgency meter (low / medium / high)
- A numbered action plan: what to do first, and where to pay or reply safely
- A scam check that warns about OTP requests, suspicious links, fake prizes and payments to personal numbers
- English / हिन्दी answers with one tap, and a Copy plan button to share it with family
Why it’s different
- Private by design: everything runs in the browser. The letter is never uploaded.
- Works for people who need it most: Hindi support, simple words, mobile friendly.
- Zero cost, zero sign-up: open the link and use it.
How it’s built
Plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript. The analyzer detects the letter type, extracts amounts and deadlines with pattern matching, scores urgency from risk signals, flags scam patterns, and returns a localized action plan. It covers utility, bank, tax, court and college letters.
