RoadFix
RoadFix is a civic-tech prototype that turns a single photo from a citizen into a costed, department-routed, publicly trackable work order. A user uploads a photo of a pothole, waterlogging, a broken speed breaker, a faulty signal, or a damaged road edge; GPS and a timestamp are captured automatically. Gemma 4 (open-weight, multimodal, via the Gemini API) classifies the issue from the image and estimates its severity and size. A deterministic rate table converts that estimate into a credible repair cost (material + labour + traffic management). Duplicate reports of the same issue within ~50 m merge into one priority ticket with a ×N badge; tickets are emailed to the right department; and a public Leaflet map shows every ticket — type icons, severity, cost, status — with shareable /report/:id pages. Stack: React + Vite, FastAPI, SQLite, Gemma 4, Leaflet/OpenStreetMap.
