Why the Bangladesh finding is important
The study included 578 fifth-year MBBS students across seven medical colleges. These are students near the end of their undergraduate medical training, so concerns about bedside teaching are particularly relevant: they need opportunities to translate years of theoretical learning into practical clinical skills.
One important qualification: a rating below 3/5 does not itself prove that students are clinically incompetent or that patient outcomes have suffered. It indicates a perceived shortcoming in the learning experience, not a direct measurement of patient harm.
