About the project

An Open-Source, AI-Powered Disaster Intelligence and Resource Coordination Platform

CrisisMesh AI is an open-source disaster response platform designed to help communities, volunteers, and relief organizations coordinate emergency responses during floods, cyclones, and other natural disasters, particularly in Bangladesh.

The platform collects disaster reports from multiple sources, uses AI to extract critical information, identifies potentially duplicate reports, and helps prioritize urgent needs. By combining AI-powered information extraction, geospatial analysis, community-based verification, and resource coordination, CrisisMesh AI aims to transform fragmented disaster information into actionable insights.

Key Features

AI-Powered Incident Analysis: Uses Gemma API to extract incident types, locations, affected populations, and resource requirements from Bengali and English reports.

Duplicate Report Detection: Identifies potentially duplicate incidents using semantic similarity, location, and timestamps.

Community-Based Verification: Enables authorized volunteers to review reports, verify evidence, and update incident statuses.

Geospatial Intelligence: Displays reported incidents, shelters, and available relief resources on an interactive map.

Smart Resource Matching: Helps match reported needs with available volunteers, supplies, and nearby shelters.

Low-Bandwidth Support: Provides a lightweight interface and queued report submission for areas with unreliable internet connectivity.

Open-Source Collaboration: Enables developers and humanitarian organizations to extend the platform, contribute features, and adapt it to local needs.
