Hack for Humanity: San Francisco

A one-day San Francisco hackathon where builders use Google Gemini and Photon to create practical solutions to local community problems.

Yuki Guardian is a persistent safety intelligence system for secondhand goods. It turns intake photos into reusable item passports, then searches those historical
observations whenever a new product recall is published.

When Guardian finds a possible match, it immediately places the item on hold and explains the supporting, conflicting, and missing evidence. Gemini identifies what is
visible and requests the most useful next observation, such as a photo of an underside label. A deterministic policy engine evaluates the validated evidence, while Photon
coordinates the workflow and enforces the resulting inventory action. Tavus provides a guided video session that helps store staff capture the correct evidence.

In our demo, Guardian processes a simulated recall, searches existing inventory, identifies an affected item among similar decoys, requests a decisive label photo, confirms
the recalled model, quarantines the item, and rejects a subsequent sale attempt. Every state change is idempotent and recorded in an audit trail.

The core safety principle is simple: Gemini provides evidence, deterministic policy makes the decision, Photon executes the authorized action, and humans remain responsible
for releasing quarantined items. Guardian does not claim that cleared products are universally safe. It prevents unresolved safety signals from being ignored.
