Hack for Humanity: San Francisco

A one-day San Francisco hackathon where builders use Google Gemini and Photon to create practical solutions to local community problems.

LOCAL GACHA helps visitors discover local Japan beyond crowded tourist hotspots.

Inspired by Japanese capsule toy machines, our interactive 3D web app reveals real local places through a playful surprise. Each discovery includes a real photo, a Google Maps link, and a Gemini-powered guide.

FalkorDB connects places through neighborhoods and shared experiences. Gemini uses those connections and place information to answer questions such as “What should I try?” and “Where should I go next?”

Our working prototype features five real Tokyo locations. We aim to bring more attention to overlooked local shops and neighborhoods by making discovery fun and approachable.
