Welcome Back, AI Engineer

Final night of the Summer Soirée — and the main event is the game corner: a projector, a lawn full of competitive guests, and Planetfall, the little arcade game blackgirlbytes built for last year’s party.

blackgirlbytes left after last summer. blackgirlbytes is on a silent meditation retreat until August. blackgirlbytes is not answering messages.

Kai, this year’s newest volunteer, bursts into the prep tent with a laptop:

> “I was cleaning up the game code for tonight and there are TWO ways to open the leaderboard. There’s the button in the game menu… but the route /leaderboard also opens it directly, skipping the menu entirely. That has to be leftover junk, right? I want to delete it before the tournament.”

Marisol raises an eyebrow:

> “Last year that projector ran something on that screen all night. Why does that route exist? Someone find out. Without waiting for August.”

Here’s the thing: blackgirlbytes used Entire. She may be unreachable — but her sessions aren’t. The code can’t explain itself. The checkpoints can.
