Hacktoberfest Hack Day Kolkata X AKI HACKS

Hacktoberfest Hack Day Kolkata X AKI HACKS background

AKI HACKS is a 12-hour, in-person hackathon that brings together students, developers, designers, and technology enthusiasts to build, collaborate, and turn ideas into working prototypes.

The hackathon follows an open innovation format, with no predefined tracks or restrictions on the problem domain. Participants are encouraged to identify a problem they care about and build a meaningful solution using the technologies of their choice. Projects across AI, Web Development, Web3, Mobile, Developer Tools, Education, Healthcare, Community Solutions, and other domains are welcome.

The event includes 8 hours of dedicated hacking time, along with registration, team setup, technical guidance, project demonstrations, judging, and closing activities.

Teams must consist of 2 to 4 members. Participants are encouraged to form their own teams and register together. Those who do not have a team can also register individually, and the organizing team may help connect participants and facilitate team formation before the event.

Whether you are an experienced hackathon participant or joining your first one, AKI HACKS is an opportunity to learn, experiment, collaborate with other builders, and ship something you can be proud of.

Bring an idea. Build something real.

Challenges

Best Use of Gemma 4

It’s time to see how much you can build with a lightweight, open model. Gemma 4 packs multimodal intelligence into an open-weights model that you can access through the Gemini API. So, what can Gemma 4 bring to your project?

  • Multimodal Experience: Work with text and images to create an assistant that understands more of what users share.
  • Focused AI Tools: Build a focused AI tool for learning, creativity, productivity, or your community.
  • Rapid Prototyping: Experiment with an open model while using the Gemini API to move quickly from an idea to a working prototype.

Bring your idea to life… what will you build with Gemma 4 today?

Best Open-Source AI Project

Build an original project that uses open-source or open-weight AI as an important part of how it works. Teams could create an agent skill, build with an open-weight large or small language model, or build or adapt an open-source model harness. These are examples within one challenge, and teams may combine them.

Open-source or open-weight AI must be an important part of the project.

The project must be published in a public GitHub repository and use an open-source license.

An agent skill must comply with the Agent Skill Open Standard.

A model-harness entry must include an original implementation or meaningful changes to an existing open-source harness.

Best Project Built with ElevenLabs

Build a project that uses ElevenLabs technology in a meaningful way.
Your project can explore voice AI, speech generation, conversational experiences, accessibility, education, content creation, entertainment, or any other use case where audio meaningfully improves the product.
The ElevenLabs integration should be an important part of the project’s functionality or user experience.
What we are looking for:

  • Creative and meaningful use of ElevenLabs
  • A working implementation
  • Clear integration with the overall product
  • A compelling demonstration of the technology

Prize: Each member of the winning team will receive 3 months of ElevenLabs Scale access.
