Africa’s builders are not waiting for the future. They’re building it.
This October, B54 is bringing Hacktoberfest to Nigeria for a month of building, experimentation, learning and collaboration around open source and AI.
We’re bringing together students, developers, designers, innovators and technology enthusiasts to learn new skills, experiment with emerging technologies, collaborate with other builders and create solutions that matter.

Build an innovative AI-powered solution using Adaption AI.
Use Adaption’s platform to explore how adaptive data, customised model training, and AI can solve meaningful real-world problems. You can build an AI assistant, domain-specific model, intelligent tool, or another original application that demonstrates the potential of adaptive intelligence.
Projects may explore Adaption’s Adaptive Data capabilities for preparing and improving training datasets, or AutoScientist for experimenting with and training customised models.
To qualify:
- Build an original, working project that demonstrates a meaningful use of AI.
- Use Adaption AI in a substantial and clearly explained way.
- Include a public GitHub repository with your code and a README explaining the problem, solution, setup, and how Adaption was used.
- Provide a working demo or a short demonstration where possible.
- Clearly identify your contribution and any external tools or datasets used.
How projects will be evaluated:
- Effective use of Adaption AI.
- Originality and innovation.
- Technical implementation and functionality.
- Practical impact and usefulness.
- Quality of documentation and demonstration.
Outstanding projects may be selected for Adaption AI swag, subject to the organisers’ confirmed award and shipping arrangements.
